Hatha yoga is a type of yoga that emphasizes holding poses for a period of time, and it is made up of three main practices: body postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. The benefits of yoga include flexibility and strength, stress management and better sleep, and it improved respiration and energy. Those with mobility and/or strength challenges may be interested in a chair yoga class
About the Instructor
Yoga Instructor John McDougall-Goulet, a founding member of Yoga Unify (a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the evolution of yoga), is both a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT500) and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200). John received his training through Marney Coulter, an Amrit Certified Senior Teacher (with a background in Kripalu Yoga), as well as by Eoin Finn of the Blissology School of Yoga. Over the last few years, he has studied and taken a Mediation Teacher Training Program, under the guidance of the renowned Padma Shyam.
